EPL : Arsenal tumbang x bermaya + keputusan gw17

Pep Guardiola is in great spirits after beating Arsenal

Ozil's lack of impact hurts Arsenal
"It has been a horrible week, absolutely horrible," Wenger said after Sunday's game.

"Out of two leading positions, we lost two games, and that is very disappointing. We were in control against City and it didn't look like we could lose because every time we stopped them creating chances, they looked short of ideas. But we dropped physically in the second half, gave them hope at 1-1, and we were a bit short, mentally as well."

Costa puts Chelsea nine points clear

Diego Costa's header saw Chelsea edge past Crystal Palace 1-0. The victory -- Chelsea's 11th Premier League win in succession -- ensures Antonio Conte's men will end the day nine points clear at the top of the table.

Costa, who will miss the home game against Bournemouth on Dec. 26 after picking up his fifth booking of the season, made the decisive contribution in the 43rd minute when he headed Chelsea in front.

Roma 1-0 Milan: Radja Nainggolan strikes after Wojciech Szczesny saves penalty to keep up pressure on Juve

  • Nainggolan punished Milan for missing a first-half penalty on Monday night
  • The Roma midfielder fired home 62nd minute winner at the Stadio Olimpico
  • M'Baye Niang had penalty saved after Szczesny fouled Gianluca Lapadula

Roma narrowed the gap on Serie A leaders Juventus to four points ahead of their trip to Turin on Saturday.

The Rossoneri had an opportunity to forge ahead when Gianluca Lapadula was fouled in the box by Wojciech Szczesny.

The goalkeeper, on loan from Arsenal, made up for the rash decision by diving to his left to save the effort from M'Baye Niang.

The two sides had begun level on 32 points but Roma's win left them alone in second place, four points behind leaders Juventus who they visit on Saturday.

At the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, there were few clear-cut openings but Milan were gifted a chance to go in front when Gianluca Lapadula was clumsily tripped by Szczesny when the Milan forward was running into a dead end.

The Polish goalkeeper made up for his mistake by diving to his left to save Niang's weak side-footed effort, producing the biggest cheer of the night from the home fans.

The Poland international revealed afterwards that watching footage of Niang’s penalty taking had given him a few clues about what to do.
“Today it was a matter of watching Niang’s last few penalties and I noticed that every time he misses a penalty he changes the corner,” Szczesny revealed on Roma TV. “He missed right last time so, yes, I just hoped that he did that again and went to the left.
“So it’s not just what happens on the pitch but how you study big players before the game.”
He added: “I wasn’t very happy about saving [the penalty], it was more of a relief - because the penalty came from my mistake. I didn’t have to come out, the least I could do for my team was to correct my own mistake and save the penalty. It was a big relief.”

Arsène Wenger has called on his side to “change history” and progress beyond the last 16 of the Champions League.
We have been beaten in the first knockout round for the past six seasons, and will face Bayern Munich once again when the competition resumes in February.

Wenger - speaking before the draw was made - insists there is no mental barrier holding his side back, and feels we can go further this term.
“They said they made the world in seven days, this is the seventh day for us, so we have to get a special day!” the manager said.
“Many times [in the past] we were in a position where we played at home and we wanted to make the difference and after 10 minutes we conceded a goal and after you think already, ‘Oh no’. This time the advantage is that we play first away from home.

“If we can keep our strength away from home that can help us - let's have a good first game then we can finish the job at home.
“We are all here to change history and to make history so we have to change what happened before. And make it better.
"I must tell you the best way to have momentum when we go in the Champions League is to have a good position in the league and [ensure] the belief is high. I am convinced that is absolutely vital because I have had experience of it."

MC hilang punca tanpa tonggak | Vardy kembali temui sentuhan

Jamie Vardy scored a hat trick as Leicester City put their recent poor form behind them with a 4-2 win over Manchester City at the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes tore into their visitors from the start and were two goals to the good after only five minutes.
After three minutes, Riyad Mahrez laid the ball off to Islam Slimani, who slipped a pass between two defenders for Vardy to run on and bury an emphatic finish for his first Leicester goal in two months.
With five minutes gone the visitors were two goals adrift as Slimani laid the ball back to Danny Drinkwater just outside the area and his curling finish beat Claudio Bravo before Vardy slid home his second after 20 minutes.
The striker seized on a poor John Stones backpass to complete his treble after the break, with goal-line technology confirming it had gone in, with Aleksandar Kolarov and Nolito striking late on to make the scoreline more respectable for Manchester City.
Pep: "In England they're so good at one thing, the second ball. They are so tough on the counter-attack and they defend so well"
Vardy: “We wanted to make sure we were competitive today & make sure the team fought hard for the cause. And we certainly did that”
Man City have started the second half brightly but are yet to find a way past Zieler.

ARSENAL teratas liga buat masa ini | Menang 3-1 ngan Stoke

Great Team Performance To Come Back From Behind & Good to Get My First Goal Of The Season. #BIG17

Arsenal do just enough

An enforced change and a delightful moment helped Arsenal beat Stoke. Having fallen behind, Arsene Wenger's side were inspired by Hector Bellerin's introduction and Mesut Ozil's superb winning goal.

Arsenal's Mustafi set for three weeks out

The Potters broke through when they were awarded a penalty after Joe Allen was elbowed by Granit Xhaka and Charlie Adam sent Petr Cech the wrong way from the spot.
But Arsenal levelled after 42 minutes when Theo Walcott rounded off a flowing move with a neat finish, and were in front when Mesut Ozil struck with a rare header after an excellent ball by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain minutes into the second half.
Substitute Alex Iwobi wrapped up three points for Arsene Wenger's side soon after Cech had thwarted Stoke with a good save from a Peter Crouch effort.

It's so good to have you back, Hector Bellerin

Afterwards, the boss spoke to Arsenal Player - and here's what he said:

on the win…
We are very happy because we had a difficult week. We went to West Ham and to Basel, then had a difficult home game. We went 1-0 down on top of that. We had a bit of a hesitant start but when we went 1-0 down I felt we came back well. It was good for us to come back to 1-1 and after that I believe in the second half we had a normal win, even if, at 2-1, Petr Cech made a good save from the header from Peter Crouch. But overall I thought the second half was convincing.

on Arsenal's strength in depth…
I think we have a united squad, even if it's frustrating for some players not to get the number of games they would like to. But everybody is on board. We can only do it all together. At the moment the energy levels in the team is very united and very together, and that's what we need if we want to be successful.

on whether Arsenal can sustain a title push…
We want it to be different. I believe since we lost at home to Liverpool, in the Premier League and Champions League we have been absolutely remarkably consistent. That's very difficult so it shows that the team is ready to focus and to give absolutely everything to win the games. Can we maintain that collective energy? I think we have a chance.
