Carabao Cup : Arsenal 5 Nottingham Forest 0 | Shkodran Mustafi sarcastically hits back at fan
'Sorry for keeping two clean sheets': Shkodran Mustafi sarcastically hits back at fan who begrudgingly points out Arsenal haven't conceded when he's been on the pitch this season
- A fan has begrudgingly pointed out Shkodran Mustafi's success this season
- The German has made two starts in cup competitions and kept two clean sheets
- Arsenal were keen to sell Mustafi this summer, but were unable to find a buyer
Shkodran Mustafi has sent a sarcastic apology to a fan on Twitter after his performances in defence for Arsenal so far this season.
The defender hasn't played in the Premier League yet, but has started in both the Europa League and the League Cup.
Arsenal didn't concede a goal in either game against Eintracht Frankfurt and Nottingham Forest, and one fan saw fit to point it out on Twitter.
Mustafi has started in the League Cup and Europa League, and kept a clean sheet in both
'I hate to say this but @MustafiOfficial has played two games and kept two clean sheet,' said the Twitter user, adding a 'thinking' emoji.
To white Mustafi replied: 'Sorry for keeping the two clean sheets,' adding a less than amused emoji of his own.
Mustafi was deemed surplus to requirements at Arsenal this summer, but the club were unable to find a buyer.
There was interest from Juventus on the final day, however the transfer window slammed shut before a deal was done.
Mustafi joined Arsenal from Valencia for £35million in August 2016, but has fallen down the pecking order in recent times.
However, the German was given a start in the Gunners' 3-0 away win at Frankfurt, and then was in the line-up again for their 5-0 win against Forest in the League Cup.
After the Frankfurt game, Mustafi refused to rule out a potential transfer in the future, saying: 'My dad talked to the club. I am a player of Arsenal and have another two years of contract.
'I was never the one who starts a war when something does not work out.
'If something turns out, I'm open to taking the next step. If not, then I will continue my football.'

Man City set English semi final record with 9-0 trashing of Burton
Never in the long history of English football has a semi-final match been as one-sided as Wednesday's clash
Manchester City's lopsided win over Burton Albion on Wednesday set a record for English cup competitions, with Pep Guardiola's high-flying club rolling to a 9-0 win in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
Gabriel Jesus netted four goals at the Etihad Stadium, with Kevin De Bruyne, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez all joining him on the scoresheet.
The nine-goal spread was the largest margin of victory ever for an English cup semi-final match, dating all the way back to the first ever FA Cup during the 1871-72 season.
Goals have been remarkably easy to come by for Manchester City over the past two games.
Guardiola's side destroyed Championship club Rotherham 7-0 in the FA Cup third round on Sunday, advancing to face Burnley in the next round.
By scoring at least seven goals in consecutive games, City reached a scoring feat on Wednesday that hasn't been achieved by an English side in more than 51 years.
Don Revie's Leeds United were the last English league side to turn the trick, which they did in October 1967 when they topped Spora Luxembourg 9-0 before defeating Chelsea 7-0.
For Guardiola, it was his joint-largest margin of victory as a manager, alongside Barcelona’s 9-0 thrashing of L'Hospitalet in a Copa del Rey match in December 2011.
Wednesday's game was also the first time that City managed nine goals in a single game since November 1987, when they defeated Huddersfield Town 10-1 in a second-tier match.
For their part, Burton's 9-0 defeat was the heaviest loss in League Cup competition since Fulham fell 10-0 to Liverpool in September 1986.
Unfortunately for Burton, this tie isn't over. The two sides will meet again in the second leg on January 23, when more records could fall by the wayside.

MAN CITY juara Carabao Cup 2018 | Arsenal gagal beri saingan
For the fifth time in their history, Manchester City get their hands on the trophy!
Arsene Wenger to blame for Arsenal's lack of fight and it's time for him to go
Given that Arsenal had already lost five games in 2018, including defeats to the likes of Swansea, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, and Ostersunds FK, it wasn't that surprising when they went down 3-0 in the Carabao Cup final to the best team in England.
Man City sit top of the Premier League, a full 27 points ahead of the Gunners and that gulf in quality was evident throughout the game at Wembley. There's no question as to who deserved it; no question as to who were the better side. The only question was how big the margin of victory was going to be.

CARABAO CUP : ARSENAL ke final slps tumpaskn Chelsea
Arsenal into the final
Just two days after Alexis Sanchez completed his move to Manchester United, Arsenal have shown they can still succeed without the Chile international by booking their place in the Carabao Cup final, where they will meet Manchester City.
It was not pretty - two deflections off Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger led to the Gunners' goals - but Arsene Wenger, who is yet to lift this trophy, will not mind. "You won't remember who scored and how they scored. Who cares? Another final for Arsenal, another final for Arsene. That was the right answer after Alexis Sanchez left," said Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry.
Chelsea coach Antonio Conte: "My thoughts are there is disappointment for the final result. I think my players must be pleased with their effort, we tried to reach the final, we conceded two goals and we were unlucky, two deflections
