EPL : Arsenal kena blasah ngan Liverpool (4-0)

Liverpool produced a dazzling attacking display to destroy Arsenal as Arsene Wenger's side were humiliated at Anfield.

Wenger surprisingly chose to leave out summer signing Alexandre Lacazette, and the £52.6m striker could only look on as every one of the Gunners' old, familiar failings were brutally exposed by Liverpool's pace, movement and sheer desire.

Alexis Sanchez was replaced and Alexandre Lacazette introduced after 62 minutes

They almost had a second but Ederson saved from Jermain Defoe before City were level on 21 minutes.

David Silva threaded the ball through to Gabriel Jesus, who finished for his first goal of the season.

Thereafter City largely dominated, although Joshua King hit a post on 61 minutes.

Nicolas Otamendi also hit the woodwork but just when it looked as if it would end a draw, City broke and Sterling’s deflected shot found the corner of the net.

Sterling then was sent off for a second yellow card after celebrating with the away fans.

Man United notch a different kind of win

MOU : United subs make all my moves right

Match summary

Marcus Rashford helped maintain Manchester United's 100% start to the season with the opener in a 2-0 win over Leicester City.

The substitute ended Leicester's resistance within four minutes of coming off the bench before Marouane Fellaini, also a late replacement, made sure of the win.

Marcus Rashford came off the bench to open the scoring for Man United.

After a frustrating first half for United, who had a Juan Mata strike ruled out for offside, they were denied again shortly after the break.

Kasper Schmeichel stopped Romelu Lukaku from becoming the first player to score in each of his first three United appearances by saving his penalty after Danny Simpson had handled Anthony Martial's cross.

But Rashford struck from Henrikh Mkhitaryan's 70th-minute corner, the Armenian's fifth assist of the season, to Old Trafford's relief.

Fellaini then converted Jesse Lingard's cross with eight minutes remaining to take Jose Mourinho's side back to the top.

EPL : Pep Guardiola: Man City need to improve attacking to have title hopes

The team whose squad was worth £596 million and are effectively the public relations arm of an energy-rich Arab state eventually found their way past the club who have spent 34 painful years returning to this level having almost dropped off the Football League radar 20 years ago and whose squad was worth £37.5m.

Since last playing in the top flight in 1983, Brighton have threatened to go out of the league and out of business, sold their own ground and been homeless before building this splendid new stadium and obtaining Premier League football for the first time.

So this was a momentous day and they deserved to enjoy it. The sun shone, the 32,000-capacity community stadium looked magnificent, nestling as it does among the South Downs, and the trains to the village of Falmer were heaving with fans in regulation summer short-sleeved replica kits.

Gabriel Jesus then challenged for a header but Brighton's Lewis Dunk was the man who got the last touch to make it 2-0

BRIGHTON -- Pep Guardiola was relieved to avoid an opening day setback like defending champions Chelsea but insists Manchester City need to improve their attacking if they are to challenge for the title.
City kicked off the season with a 2-0 win at newly promoted Brighton but they were left frustrated when they couldn't find a breakthrough in the opening 70 minutes.
Sergio Aguero finally smashed City into the lead before they added a second when Brighton defender Lewis Dunk headed into his own net.
"We attacked too slowly we have to be a little bit quicker and a little bit more precise with more accuracy in our passes."

Chris Hughton was proud of his 's players after their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

EPL : Watford deny Liverpool in injury time

Miguel Britos scrambled home a controversial injury-time equaliser as Watford held Liverpool in a six-goal thriller at Vicarage Road.
Liverpool looked as though they had put all speculation and uncertainty over Philippe Coutinho's future to one side to win their opening Premier League clash only for Britos to head home from point-black range in the dying moments to seal a 3-3 draw.

Britos bundled in the sixth goal of the game to take a share of the points as Mignolet was helpless in the Liverpool goal

Abe Giroud hero of the day | Permulaan baik buat The Gunners

Giroud the hero for new-look Arsenal

Arsenal's Olivier Giroud said Arsenal "kept the faith" after delivering a late winner in Saturday's wild 4-3 win over Leicester to open the Premier League season.
The Gunners twice fell behind before Arsene Wenger put on Giroud and Aaron Ramey in what turned out to be an inspired double change as both substitutes scored to provide the victory
Giroud got the winner with an 85th-minute header, and he told Sky Sports afterward that Arsenal never doubted they could come back.
"Obviously I knew that I was going to have a chance so we tried to push," he said. "We kept the faith and kept believing in our game to push hard.
"We've been courageous to the end and thank God we won the game."
Wenger said he was happy Giroud decided to stay at the Emirates after having the opportunity to move on this summer following the signing of Alexandre Lacazette.
Alexandre Lacazette's goal - after 94 seconds - is the joint quickest opening goal to a Premier League season

"I love the man and the player. He's a fantastic guy and he's committed," the manager said. "He doesn't want to leave and I'm happy he wants to stay.
"At one stage I opened the door for him as I knew I had many strikers, and in the end he decided to stay.
Wenger acknowledged it would be difficult to give playing time to all of his attackers, but was happy with all the contributions on Friday night.
There was controversy in the build-up to Arsenal's equalising goal for 3-3 with a handball before Aaron Ramsey's strike

"Going forward and character wise we have been great. We had some avoidable goals which we conceded and overall we have to work on that," he said.
"It's impossible to keep them happy when strikers don't play. We have many games and hopefully I can give games to all the strikers. They all deserve to play."
Petr Cech has seen better days after conceding three goals, and he said Leicester did well to pounce on Arsenal's errors.
"We started really well and I thought we could stay in control. Then we made mistakes and they punished us," he said. "They had chances and then we had to chase.
"There were difficult moments when we were down and we managed to get out of that and it's great to see."
