Liverpool wrecked Manchester City's hopes of returning to the top of the Premier League and delivered more evidence of vast improvement under new manager Jurgen Klopp with an emphatic victory at The Etihad.

Coutinho and Firmino the key factors

City defender Eliaquim Mangala opened the scoring with an own goal

Man of the match - Philippe Coutinho

  • What they said

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "Today we did it all wrong - the performance, the way we defended, the way we went forward. It was a fake night, a fake game. It is difficult to understand.
"If we meant to do it on purpose we couldn't have done it that badly. We tried to make changes and have some options to score. We tried to fight but continued making so many mistakes with the ball."
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "It feels perfect. The game was not perfect but it was very good.
"City couldn't start like they want but that is important for us. We played with big passion and that's the most important thing for us.
"The good news is that we can do better. At half-time I told the boys they were surprised to be winning 3-0, and we must do better in that situation.
"We have quality, we could have more goals but 4-1 is perfect. The boys can believe now that they are stronger than many people think."

Rooney berasa semakin tertekan

– Agensi

Belgium 3 Itali 1 (Game kwn2)

Belgium solidified their position at the top of Fifa's World Rankings with an impressive 3-1 victory over Italy in Brussels on Friday.

Unsurprisingly for a side coming off the back of four successive wins, the Azzurri caused the home side plenty of problems but Marc Wilmots' men took everything that was thrown at them and punished every mistake the visitors made.

Antonio Candreva
Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne got on the scoresheet as Belgium struck twice late on to beat Italy 3-1 in their friendly in Brussels.
Antonio Candreva gave Italy an early lead but Belgium, the world's new number one side, replied quickly through Jan Vertonghen and then dominated the second half.
De Bruyne deservedly put the hosts ahead 16 minutes from time before substitute Michy Batshuayi wrapped up victory eight minutes later.
The match was a poignant occasion as a series of events were made to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Heysel Disaster, which occurred on the site of the contemporary King Baudouin Stadium and involved Italian side Juventus. These included play stopping in the 39th minute --with the ball still live -- for players to join in applause as the names of the 39 victims of the tragedy were displayed on screen.
In terms of the action, Belgium started slowly as Italy, unbeaten in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, took the lead after just three minutes.
The impressive Alessandro Florenzi raced onto a long ball and fed into the box. A slight deflection took the ball into Graziano Pelle's path and although his shot was parried by Simon Mignolet, Candreva was on hand to tap in.

Candreva could have had another as he cut in from the left to shoot on his right but Mignolet palmed to safety.
Both of those opportunities came as a result of poor defending but the Italians were also caught out at the back as Belgium equalised after 13 minutes.
Vertonghen was left unmarked as De Bruyne delivered a perfect corner for the Tottenham defender to head home.
Italy continued to threaten on the break with Florenzi getting clear only to shoot wide while Eder blazed over.
Romelu Lukaku should have put Belgium ahead before the break after being put through by De Bruyne, but Giorgio Chiellini timed his tackle superbly.
Eder twice passed up a glorious opportunity to give Italy the lead on the hour after a fine ball by substitute Roberto Soriano. He first failed to make clean contact with his shot and hit the bar, and then headed over from a kind rebound.
Italy paid for that as De Bruyne struck after 74 minutes. Moments after Axel Witsel had spurned a good chance, De Bruyne got lucky as his shot bounced over Gianluigi Buffon after Batshuayi's initial effort was saved.
Mignolet denied Pelle an equaliser with a fine save from a free header but Belgium finished the stronger with Batshuayi hitting the target after good work by Yannick Carrasco.

Spain 2 England 0 (Perlawanan Persahabatan)

Mario Gaspar wonder goal helps Spain beat England in friendly

Mario Gaspar scored a stunning acrobatic volley as Spain ended England's 15-match unbeaten run in Alicante.
Despite having his back to goal, the Spain right-back managed to beat Joe Hart with a flying volley from Cesc Fabregas' pass.
It was a wonderful goal worthy of winning any match, but Santiago Cazorla made sure of the 2-0 win eight minutes from time.
England, who started with Wayne Rooney on the bench, held their own for much of the first half. Ryan Bertrand and Raheem Sterling impressed down the left, but eventually Roy Hodgson's men crumbled under intense pressure and Spain ran out deserved winners.
Hodgson's men had the chance to prove they were capable of going toe to toe with Europe's best, but they came up short.
The Spanish dominated possession from the first whistle and England did not help themselves by giving the ball away regularly.
Michael Carrick, who was carried off on a stretcher late on, looked lost in midfield and Fabian Delph was wasteful too.
Their run may have been impressive, but on this evidence they have a long way to go before they can call themselves European Championship contenders
Mario Gaspar's wonderful volley broke the deadlock for Spain.

It was clear from kick-off that Gerard Pique's declaration he supported independence for Catalonia had not gone down well with the vast majority of Spain fans.
Every time the Barcelona defender touched the ball, whistles and boos rang out around inside the Estadio Jose Rico Perez.
That aside, the 29,500 spectators did their best to create a party atmosphere inside the open-air stadium.
They were here to see a fiesta of football and their players gave it to them.
In the first half the hosts enjoyed 68 per cent possession. Cesc Fabregas, Andres Iniesta and Thiago Alcantara hogged the ball and attempted to conjure up an opening goal.
Fabregas telegraphed a beautiful 40-yard ball over the England defence for Diego Costa, but Phil Jones recovered just in time to deny the Chelsea striker.
It looked like Pique might have given Spain the lead when his effort looped up in the air off Carrick, but the ball dropped just wide.
Carrick, unable to keep up with the pace of play, was booked for a high tackle on the troublesome Thiago.
Luckily for England, Thiago suffered an injury and was substituted for Cazorla.
When Spain finally allowed England to have the ball, they found the best use for it down the left.
Sterling and Bertrand whipped in low crosses, but no one could finish. Harry Kane and Delph all registered efforts on target, but Iker Casillas had no trouble saving them.
Hodgson brought debutant Eric Dier on for Delph while Dele Alli replaced Adam Lallana.
Even without Thiago and Andres Iniesta, who was substituted at the break, Spain had no trouble keeping the ball, and it looked inevitable they would score.
Hart saved well to deny Jordi Alba. At the other end, Kane fizzed a dipping drive just wide.
Any hopes England had of taking the lead were dashed in the 72nd minute when Fabregas chipped a ball into the box and Mario unleashed an acrobatic volley that flew past Hart. The whole ground rose to their feet and applauded.
Twelve minutes later Spain secured the result. Cazorla was given space on the edge of the box and he took full advantage, curling the ball in off a post. Hart thought the goal should not have stood. He complained with the linesman and was booked.
He could have no complaints about the result, however. England had been soundly beaten.

Kelayakan Piala Dunia 2018 : Palestin 6-0 Malaysia

Tiada keistimewaan berlaku kerana barisan pemainnya masih gagal menampilkan corak permainan bermutu tinggi.
Ekoran kekalahan tersebut, barisan kejurulatihan skuad Harimau Malaya tidak perlu memberi sebarang alasan kerana apa yang pasti, mereka masih kurang bijak bermain bola sepak.

Palestine inflicted a second straight 6-0 thrashing on Malaysia in Group A.

JDT leburkan sisa peluang Perak (utusan)

JDT menang 2-1.

Benzema didakwa peras ugut berkaitan pita seks (www.utusan.com.my)

Valbuena meninggalkan kompleks latihan Lyon semalam tanpa memberikan komen.

– AFP

Former Arsenal player Remi Garde (right) sat emotionless in the stands for most of the game

New boss Remi Garde watched from the stands as Aston Villa lost at Tottenham to suffer a club record-equalling seventh straight Premier League defeat.
Garde had barely taken his seat when Mousa Dembele went unchallenged before beating Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan.
Dele Alli doubled Spurs' lead from 18 yards as they extended their unbeaten run to 10 league games.
Villa rallied as Jordan Ayew scored from the edge of the box but Harry Kane put the result beyond doubt late on.
