EPL : Claude Puel SACKED by Leicester after 4-1 thrashing at home to Crystal Palace

  • Claude Puel has been sacked as manager of Leicester after a 4-1 defeat at home
  • Foxes have won just four league games at home all season as Puel now departs
  • Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is the favourite to be the club's next manager
  • Pressure has been mounting on Puel as club have not won since New Year's Day
  • Puel was told of the decision by sporting director Jon Rudkin on Sunday morning
Leicester have acted after the 4-1 home defeat by Crystal Palace meant the side have lost seven of the last nine games.
The atmosphere among players at Puel's methods is said to be at rock bottom, and the pre-season target of seventh appears a remote prospect. The club are 12th, only eight points above the relegation places.

Sportsmail reported before Christmas that low morale put Puel's position in real jeopardy

Claudio Ranieri and Craig Shakespeare were also sacked after failing to win in six consecutive matches.

Wilfried Zaha scored a brace on Saturday as Leicester's dismal start to the year continued
January signing Youri Tielemans looked to make his mark in the centre of midfield with some weaving runs
