Lionel Messi and Neymar scored the goals for the blaugrana, who enjoyed 51 percent of possession, created 15 goal-scoring chances and attempted 13 shots, eight of them on target.
Although much of the pre-match talk had been focused on Pep Guardiola's return to the stadium that saw him grow from ball boy to legendary manager, the attention shifted toward the pitch as soon as the game started, leaving no room for sentiment.
