Shootouts are part of Liverpool's history - they have won two European Cups and an FA Cup from 12 yards - but this was quite remarkable, as 30 penalties were taken after the match finished 2-2 at the end of extra time.

BPL : Leicester 5-3 Man Utd | MC 1-1 Chelsea

Leicester 5-3 Man Utd   |   MC 1-1 Chelsea

United While Louis Van Gaal might now extend special privileges to Angel di Maria as well as Wayne Rooney, Manchester United's manager needs to impose some special measures at the other end of the field after this. United were magnificent going forward, with Di Maria marking another masterclass in attacking football with a quite outrageous first-half goal that suggested that, like Rooney, he should be guaranteed a place in Van Gaal's side. But Van Gaal also had to endure a defensive performance that served as another reminder of the challenge still facing the Dutchman.
Frank LampardAndre Schurrle put Chelsea in front in the second half after Pablo Zabaleta was sent off just minutes earlier for the hosts. But Frank Lampard scored an equaliser for City with just minutes to go. Meanwhile in the day's other 4pm kick-off, EVERTON host CRYSTAL PALACE at Goodison Park hoping to keep up their push for a place in Europe's premier competition next term. But the unfancied visitors have stormed into a big lead.

Perjuangan masih belum selesai [kosmo]

“Saya fikir Harimau Muda A bermain de- ngan baik ketika menentang Laos sebelum menjaringkan gol pertama.

Premier League - Di Maria's dad: Underappreciated Angel needs some affection Sumber foto : Eurosport
"Bagaimanapun, dia memiliki banyak peluang keemasan tetapi gagal memanfaatkannya.
- AFP

Kagawa bawa semangat baharu [kosmo]

KAGAWA diberi kepercayaan untuk mengemudi jentera tengah Dortmund pada aksi menentang Arsenal awal pagi esok.

DORTMUND - Kehadiran Shinji Kagawa memberikan semangat baharu kepada Borussia Dortmund menjelang aksi pembukaan Kumpulan D kempen Liga Juara-Juara menentang Arsenal awal pagi esok.
"Kami mahu mendapat permulaan menarik.
- AFP

- Agensi

Villa stun Liverpool to move up to second

Anfield - Liverpool 0 Aston Villa 1 (Agbonlahor 9)

Sumber:Eurosport & dailymail
Liverpool
Aston Villa dished out the rough stuff to Mario Balotelli and Liverpool, but can claim the tactic was justified as Paul Lambert's men climbed to second in the Premier League following captain Gabby Agbonlahor's shock winner. Balotelli, making his Anfield debut after a £16million move from AC Milan, appeared to be targeted by Villa to try and make him lose his temper, particularly when Philippe Senderos kicked him off the ball.

Gabby Agbonlahor fired a scrappy winner as Aston Villa moved up to second and continued their impressive early season form with a surprise 1-0 victory at Liverpool.
Gabby Agbonlahor looks on as his scuffed shot sails past Steven Gerrard and Co to allow Aston Villa to take the lead against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening
Gabby Agbonlahor runs away in celebration while Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard looks on as Anfield is silenced by Aston Villa's shock opener nine minutes in
The 27-year-old forward, who signed a new four-year contract earlier in the week, reacted quickest to stab in from close range on nine minutes after Philippe Senderos' knock down was not cleared by a static Reds defence.
The Swiss centre back was a constant menace to Brendan Rodgers' men as they struggled to cope with set pieces throughout and he should have doubled the Villans' tally when he somehow ballooned a free header over the bar from eight yards out. He was also fortunate to avoid a possible red card in the first half when he appeared to kick out at Mario Balotelli off the ball.
The hosts had been hoping to build on a superb 3-0 triumph at Tottenham prior to the international break but struggled to carve out chances with Balotelli starved of service on an uneventful home bow.
Adam Lallana, who was making his full debut for Liverpool, did go close with a rasping 25 yard drive while Philippe Coutinho hit the post late on, but in truth Villa were full value for their hard-fought win as the Reds struggled to find a cutting edge without the injured Daniel Sturridge.
KEY MOMENTS
PRE-MATCH - Debuts galore! Liverpool hand full debuts to summer signings Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic (first start) while Mario Balotelli makes his home bow. There is also a surprise omission from the Reds' starting XI as Raheem Sterling, who has starred for club and country in recent months, drops to the bench. Meanwhile, Tom Cleverley, on-loan from Manchester United, makes his maiden appearance in a Villa shirt.
6' - LIVERPOOL CHANCE! Manquillo clips a ball into the area towards Balotelli but Markovic got there first and miscued his header wide. The Italian was probably in a better position to score.
9' - GOAL! LIVERPOOL 0-1 ASTON VILLA. The visitors lead! It's a scrappy goal, but they won't care. Senderos sees his stooping header from a corner hit a red shirt and fall for Agbonlahor who manages to stab the ball into the net from close range. Poor defending by Lovren and then Sakho from Liverpool's point of view.
13' - ASTON VILLA CHANCE. It should be two! Westwood floats the free kick into the box for a completely unmarked Senderos who somehow heads over the top with the goal gaping. A glorious opening wasted.
22' - SHOULD VILLA BE DOWN TO 10 MEN? Villa could easily be a man down as Senderos foolishly kicks out at Balotelli. The Italian goes down but the referee didn't see the off-the-ball incident. Strange from the Swiss, very strange! He's got away with that one.
32' - LIVERPOOL CHANCE! Coutinho dinks a neat ball into the area for Henderson's diagonal run. The England man nods it back for Lallana whose side-foot attempt is blocked by Senderos from eight yards out.
43' - CLOSE! Lallana lets fly with a volley from 25 yards that arrows inches past the post. Good effort. Could have been the perfect way to cap his Reds bow!
78' - LIVERPOOL HALF CHANCE. A poor header from Cissokho gift-wraps a ball through for Sterling but the winger's touch is poor and the chance goes begging as Guzan comes to gather.
82' - OFF THE POST! Coutinho jinks left and right before cutting in from the flank and curling in a shot that clips Senderos and crashes back off the post. Unlucky for Liverpool.

Manchester United as we know it is dead and this is the new era at Old Trafford

Foreign owners, foreign coach and foreign players... Manchester United as we know it is dead and this is the new era at Old Trafford

Manchester United

MARTIN SAMUEL: A British manager affording opportunity to young British players. It was what set Manchester United apart. Not any more. Sunday, September 14, 2014, is the first day of the new Manchester United. Against Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford, a foreign coach will preside over a starting XI of mostly foreign, expensively-acquired, players. Neville was adamant, defiant, that Manchester United should resist the appeal of a foreign coach. In his eyes this meant giving Moyes more time but it was plain that, even if a change had to be made, Neville felt the successor must hail from within these shores.

Did Van Gaal get it wrong....

Did Van Gaal get it wrong selling Welbeck? Arsenal's £16m man delivers for England as part of exciting new-look front three

Welbeck

NEIL ASHTON: Louis van Gaal's decision to sell Danny Welbeck for £16m is one of the most controversial transfers in Manchester United history. On Monday night, after he scored twice in an England shirt in his first start since a deadline day transfer to Arsenal, it felt like one of the biggest mistakes they have ever made. One goal, against Switzerland in this Euro 2016 qualifier, was embarrassing enough for van Gaal. Two feels like humiliation.

Euro 2016 - Welbeck fires England to winning start against Switzerland

Sumber : eurosport

England
SWITZERLAND 0-2 ENGLAND
Roy Hodgson got the win, the performance, and the breathing space he will need, if England are to put the trauma of the World Cup behind them. After a week that threatened to turn drama into crisis, England delivered in what many believe will be the toughest match of their European Championship qualifying campaign.

Euro 2016 qualifier, Basel: Switzerland 0, England 2 (Welbeck 58, 90+4)

KEY MOMENTS
PRE-MATCH: So two changes in personnel for England - Danny Welbeck replaces the injured Daniel Sturridge, while Fabian Delph comes in for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. More pertinently the teams would suggest a change in formation from Roy Hodgson, with Raheem Sterling presumably playing at the point of a midfield diamond, with Delph, Jordan Henderson and Jack Wilshere supporting him. That's a pretty dynamic midfield, and a pretty bold team selection as well - one assumes Hodgson won't be asking them merely to defend.
15 mins: CHANCE - England are gifted a chance by an errant pass by Von Bergen, and they briefly have a four on three with Sterling running at goal. However, Sterling chooses to pass left to Rooney when Welbeck was a better option to the right. Rooney controls and takes a shot, but it's too weak and too near Sommer, who saves with relative ease.
42 mins: CHANCE - England go close again. Delph and Baines fashion some room out on the left and feed Rooney, who cuts inside and swipes a shot towards goal, which Sommer rather unconvincingly shovels away for a corner.
43 mins: CHANCE - That was a much better stop from Sommer: Jones is left unmarked from the corner and powerfully heads towards goal, but Sommer gets down quickly to his left and pushes the ball away. If you were being hyper-critical then you could say with the time and space Jones had he should've given the keeper no chance, but that was excellent goalkeeping.
58 mins: GOAL! WELBECK OPENS THE SCORING! And finally it pays off. England counter impressively down the left, Rooney feeds Sterling as the defence opens up, the Liverpool man plays an excellent first-time pass across to Welbeck who tucks it (perhaps off a shin) into the corner of the net.
70 mins: CHANCE - Huge chance for Switzerland, as Drmic is set through on goal, despite looking slightly offside. He goes round Hart and tries to slot it home, but Cahill is there to block the effort. The Swiss claim handball, and while it did strike Cahill's arm as he slid, that would have been a very harsh penalty.
90 mins+4: GOAL! WELBECK SEALS IT! That's that, as England counter and Sterling feeds Lambert, who likewise passes on to Welbeck, who takes his time and slots the ball into the far corner with a cool, cool finish.
KEY STATS
England had just three shots on target throughout the game, and two of them went in.
Switzerland actually had more of the ball, enjoying 56% possession as opposed to England's 44%
MAN OF THE MATCH
Raheem Sterling - England: He really is a special talent, this lad. The Liverpool forward was played in a central role at the tip of a midfield diamond, as he does for Liverpool, and he excelled for Hodgson just as he has for Brendan Rodgers. If he continues like that then Liverpool might not miss Luis Suarez that much - and England could have their next star.

Spain 5-1 Macedonia

Who needs Costa ? Silva shines for Del Bosque's new-look side
Premier League's stamp of class: Silva celebrates after he knocked the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 4-1 to Spain in Valencia

  • Spain started with eight players from the Euro 2012 campaign - Vincente Del Bosque didn't make too many changes
  • Sergio Ramos scored opener for Spain with a cheeky paneka chipped penalty after David Silva was brought down
  • Paco Alcacer doubled the lead after Juanfran beat the goalkeeper to a chipped cross that went across the area
  • Juanfran then gave away a penalty allowing Agim Ibraimi to halve the deficit from the spot past Iker Casillas
  • Silva's low strike across the goalkeeper made it 4-1 to Spain as they showed their style in this big win
  • Pedro chipped in with the fifth after Silva's pass to make it an even more resounding win in stoppage time
  • Silva now has more goals than any other non-striker for Spain apart from Fernando Hierro
