Jose Mourinho off as 10-man Chelsea lose at West Ham, Aston Villa beaten
Chelsea endured another awful day in the 2015-16 Premier League season as they lost 2-1 at West Ham United and had manager Jose Mourinho and midfielder Nemanja Matic sent off.
West Ham took the lead on 17 minutes with Mauro Zarate crashing home after Chelsea failed to fully clear a corner.
Chelsea came within millimetres of levelling before half-time when Kurt Zouma saw a header go very close to crossing the line.
Cesc Fabregas then saw a goal ruled out for offside before things went from bad to worse with Matic receiving a second yellow card before the break.
With manager Mourinho watching on from the stands in the second half, his 10 men levelled when Gary Cahill slammed the ball past goalkeeper Adrian.
West Ham retook the lead with 11 minutes remaining through substitute Andy Carroll, who headed in powerfully from Aaron Cresswell's cross.
