WIGAN, England -- Mohamed Salah marked his first appearance in a Liverpool shirt with a goal after he netted the equalising goal in Friday night's 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic in a friendly.
Salah cancelled out Alex Gilbey's opener for the hosts with a tap-in right on the stroke half-time to conclude an impressive 45-minute outing.
After standard immigration procedure kept him out of Wednesday's short trip to Tranmere Rovers, Salah played the entire of the first half at the DW Stadium -- his first action since arriving to Liverpool from Roma for potential club-record fee.
Wigan took the lead in the 21st minute as Gilbey capitalised on Liverpool failing to clear their lines from a free kick.
But the Premier League side later levelled when Roberto Firmino was through on goal and allowed the Liverpool debutant to score by squaring the ball.
The match was the last of Liverpool's preseason friendlies on home soil as they embark on a near-6,000-mile trip to Hong Kong this weekend for the Premier League Asia Trophy.
